Default Setting Deep Links to open in separate pages

hi!
does anyone know how to easily make the deep link urls in clixgalore so that they will open in a separate page from my shop page they are starting from? I have found this in Commissionmonster - but not in Clixgalore.
thankyou and pleased to be here!

Hi,

the easiest way is to add target="_blank" to the URL. This will pop up the link in a new window. See belo for example code.

Code:
<A HREF="yourlink.html" TARGET="_blank">a new window</A>

Hi Tim

This is probably a really dumb question but is there any difference with target="_blank" and target="blank"

I think I have missed the underscore on a lot of my links on another site I have but on a check, they all open in a new window.

Cheers
Kristy

If it's working, I wouldn't worry too much about it. I do know that target="new" works the same way, just so you know. That's the one I use.

I tend to agree mostly, and I really got a whole lotta information outa here, but I'm just not completely sure that I'm understanding the depth to this. Would anybody care to expand just a little more?

Some of the ways may have been depricated.. I would be unsure what would be the official one to use. Probably any of them would be ok. You can also do fancy things like removing the tool bars and scroll bars etc..

I'm not sure what you are asking. The issue we are discussing is how to make a link open in a new window rather than in the same window. The advantage of this is that you don't completely lose your visitor.

If they visit a recommended affiliate and then close the window, your site or page is still sitting there for them to view in case they still want to browse your site.

Add the recommended code to your link target="new" or target="_blank" to accomplish it.

I hope that's what you were looking for.

just be careful when using open in new window links, as a lot of them get blocked by popup blockers. Which makes your site look like it doesn't work to a lot of people.

Really? I've never heard that. I use pop up blockers myself, but I haven't noticed having any trouble like that.

I think Hamo is right. We tested both ways and no longer use target="_blank"
