Best SEO Companies?

Can anyone recommend a good SEO company? I've found a few advertised online, but it's hard to separate experienced, professional SEO companies from people who have read a bit about backlinking and think it makes them an 'SEO Consultant'.

In particular, I'm looking for a page 1 guarantee and my budget is between $500 and $1000 (not sure if this is even in the right ballpark).

Has anyone had any good (or bad) experiences and can recommend a company?

Page 1 guarantees are false, and should not be trusted.
Depending on the keyword your price will change if you want to be on page 1.

Also $500 - $1000 will not get you much at all.
Ask some people for quotes and ask to see some results, then choose the best.

Anyone who ranks on the first terms for really really competitive terms like 'seo consultant' can probably get you good results, but also will likely get you banned as they are probably up to dodgy stuff.

Hey Gav there are ways to rank high for competitive phrases using legal methods, I've done it many times, it takes a lot of work!

Surely not every site you see on the first pages are using dodgy techniques? hehe

pricj004 I just realized your are the owner of the credit card site, is this one you want SEO'd ? roll up your sleeves because as you know there are tons of credit card sites out there and they all know SEO, that's why they're all on the front page. It's a really tough field I should know

But there's plenty of traffic out there and leads to be made so you can do it!
