On the other hand if you define SEO as "Self Education Online" it's quite a simple formula:
1 Find a marketable niche you are passionate about.
2 Research your keywords. I recommend Wordtracker.com.
3 Research and study how to lay-out your website to make it search engine friendly. This includes lay-out of keywords, titles and content within your web pages. I recommend XsitePro.com and the Sitepoint.com/kits/sem2/
4 Acquire some quality back-links by writing professionally written articles and submitting them to authority sites that are related to your websites theme.
5 Most importantly, be patient to see results. | Agree with you Armand. Never heard of SEO as being Self Education Online - like it. SEO has to start with your website - meta tags, keyword enriched content, easy navigation. Then links to the pages using anchor texts. Simple.
It is going to take time - lots of it - to see results with SEO, but the more you do and duplicate it, the better you will become and the better the results in the end. Remember, if you're running websites to make money from them, Affiliate Marketing using free traffic from SERPS will take time and chances are you will not make any money at least for 3 - 6 months, maybe more. SEO for me is a long term development process rather than a short term gain. |
