The .net.au is relatively uncommon in .au
Not sure why
Possibly because names are easier to get so people haven't had to 'resort' to .net, unlike the GTLD (global top level domain) space
At any rate, I wouldn't worry too much that people will think 'company', as there is no real option for 'info' (I wish they would release info.au, but its probably too late  )
If you were to decide on the .net.au, I would also get the .com.au and 301 redirect it to the .net.au
You do know you can get a id.au for your personal name, if this is a personal project?
eg http://bhatt.id.au/
Have to use your name (first name, surname, both or nickname) for the domain, not the project name, though |
