Seriously though, the site doesn't load for me due to the scripts on it.

Is it a software suite, or a service that they provide?
Is there a site you've had built with them, that isn't for their own product/service, that you could show us? I'm always on the look out for something that can generate good natural traffic on its own.
Sorry, didn't mean to be shameless! I was just trying to honestly answer timtam's question about SiteBuildIt. Although I'm not a pro affiliate marketer yet, I do use their program so thought I could provide a legitimate answer.

I don't know if you'd call it a software suite or a service or a combination of both. They do have a service for those who don't want to go to the time and trouble of building their own site and would rather have someone do it for them. But what I use is their site building program and do it myself following their step by step instructions and using their tools.

They have an Action Guide that is both written and video that teaches you how to brainstorm and research niche topics and choose the one that is best for you based on demand, supply, profitability, and monetization options. They provide the tools to do the brainstorming (software) as well as the how-to.

Same goes for the rest of it. They provide the domain, hosting, autoresponders, blogging, ezine, etc., and instructions on how to set everything up. They are very big on providing quality content and building your web pages based on keyword research and letting the engines send you the free traffic.

It was great for me as a beginner because I was overwhelmed with the whole idea of trying to choose the best compatible software to integrate together to do what I needed to do. Honestly, I didn't even know WHAT I needed to do. I didn't have the first idea of how to design or build a web site.

They do provide automated services as well, like submitting every new page you build to the engines after they show you how to submit your home page. I'm sure they do a lot more behind the scenes that I don't know about, but I'm quite satisfied with the program; otherwise, I wouldn't keep using their site building system to build my sites.

You wanted to look at my sites I've built using SBI. Like I mentioned earlier, they are in my signature (the ones in the first line are mine).

Again, sorry for the 'shameless plug' didn't mean to cause offense.

No no, my apologies, I'm just joshing you, cause the link to it is in your signature as well...

I might have to crack IE out of it's little quarantine box and check it out some time. It sounds like something that'd be useful for the people that can't get the template software working themselves... and I get oh so many of them signing up under me :'(

Strange you can't access it. I don't use IE. I use Firefox and never have any trouble. But I have no idea what 'scripts' have to do with it. I'm sure I sound completely uneducated, but that's just one more of the many things I have yet to learn.

If you do have a lot of people 'signing up under you' who need a website of their own, you would definitely be wise to check it out. You can join their affiliate program yourself and refer your sign ups to their site building program. If you're going to be helping people find a working solution and 'mentoring' them, you may as well get the commissions for it. You don't have to own the program yourself to refer it (it just helps because you are more enthusiastic after trying it - hence my not so subtle post).

I really do think they are the most perfect solution for newbies who want to build web businesses that generate their own traffic. Sure, I'm biased, but that doesn't necessarily make me wrong.

Blessings,
Angie

Thank you Happywife for taking the time to reply, and it is interesting to hear and see what you have been able to do. Your chocolate site looks good to me - as do the chocolates.

Today I decided to do a test drive with Squidoo - just a blog to see how I would go. Unfortunately - not well. I am now licking my wounds thinking I must be really stupid - wondering if I would in fact be able to navigate SBI. I have read the Master's Course and some other information and it all seems logical and well put together - on paper.

This is a really humbling experience (character building) as I didn't think it would be any hassle at all. Must have read too many positive comments and believed them.

I posted a request for assistance on their forum - so see what happens.

Thanks again for your comments - very timely.

Don't be discouraged! I couldn't help but chuckle as I read your post. I know exactly how you feel. I was at the top of my class all through school and university, so I know I'm not stupid, but I felt like a complete idiot getting started, too. It's just so different if you aren't used to it and a bit overwhelming.

I took the sage advice of the owner when I joined SBI. He said basically to shut out all the noise of everything else on the internet and just follow the site building process. I did that for several months and built my chocolate site. When I came up for air and started cruising around online again everything made so much more sense - although there is still a lot that baffles me.

I think anyone can build a site following their instructions if they are willing to put in the time and effort and not expect quick rewards. It takes time to build and gain ranking and traffic. (I don't advertise at all - didn't have the money to even consider it). You can go faster if you have money to spend on advertising/PPC as long as you learn to do it properly.

I get a tiny bit green with envy when I hear how much some of these veteran affiliate marketers are making, but I just keep plugging away and watching my own income gradually rise each month. That is something else that is 'character building.'

I've made a few lenses on Squidoo, but never did keep them up. You'll probably get help from the other members in the forum. If you don't, send me a pm and I'll send you a link to a guy's lens that has a tutorial that simplifies things.

Wishing you the best.
Angie

Thanks again - I may take you up on that.
I did get two replies - one told me to click on the big yellow button

If I were a horrible impatient teacher I would think this is karma...but I'm not.....

I hope lots of people read about your chocolates

Timtam (see - chocolate!!)

Hear Hear... No such thing as a get-rich-quick program, unless it's a scam.
The work here is just as hard as any other 9-5. Only difference is, every day is casual Friday, and you can take as long as you want for your lunch "hour"...
