Default Forum Rules

Hi All,
I'd like to welcome the increasing number of new members to AffiliateForum.com.au over the past few months and would like to take this opportunity to remind all new and existing members of the forum rules.

As a growing community we have a great opportunity to share all aspects of affiliate marketing here in Australia. It is a small and growing field but I believe that getting the ground rules understood now is required to ensure that this forum is treated as a level playing field whether it be affiliates, networks, merchants or networks.

The rules are basic and should be common sense however I would encourage you to read them and understand them fully as we move forward.

As a member of the Affiliateforum.com.au. community, you are required to abide by the all the policies written herein if you wish to continue to use these forums.

POLICIES
The following rules must be respected by you as a member of the Affiliateforum.com.au community. Anyone violating the individual policies below will be dealt with according to its severity of the infringment.

Affiliateforum.com.au reserves the right of 'unwritten rules' whereby you may be punished for something not specified in the rules if that act shows a blatant disregard for the community standard. You are expected to use your best judgment at all times.

Do not...

  1. Post excessively. Repeatedly posting in a thread without anyone else posting is not allowed. Use the edit feature.
  2. Post material not related to the goals and mission of Affiliateforum.com.au, with exception to content posted in General Chat.
  3. Plagiarize. Only post text or images which you originated, or is public domain, or short excerpts classed as fair use. (Use the link feature if you must supply additional materials to the reader such as large documents, press releases or web site content)
  4. Ask the Affiliateforum.com.au community to perform - or give advice on - illegal activity of any kind.
  5. Post URLs, keywords, search terms, and any other references to illegal activities.
  6. Post in visually displeasing fonts, colours, and sizes, including leet speak.
  7. Make dead obvious posts just to "bump" topics. Try to add a little value.
  8. Abuse or harass other members of the Affiliateforum.com.au community. No 'flaming'. No homophobism, racism, sexism or other 'isms'.
  9. Create multiple accounts with different usernames (unless preapproved by a affiliateforum.com.au staff member)
GUIDELINES
The following guidelines enhance your experience at Affiliateforum.com.au and are considered general 'netiqette' in any online community.

  1. When looking for help in the forums, use the search function to see if a similar thread already exists. It may solve your problem, it may not. But you become more respectable if you've already searched prior to posting.
  2. Keep to the standard font, colour, and size when posting. Emphasis of key terms is preferred with bold type or slightly larger font size.
  3. Use the English language properly. Try to write with proper English grammar and sentence structure. Yoda you not are.
  4. Do not use excessive foul language.
  5. Do not post in old topics that have been abandoned unless there exists a compelling reason to do so.
  6. Do not engage in arguments with other members, including Affiliateforum.com.au staff. A discussion is not the same thing as an argument, discussions are, by the very nature of forums, encouraged.
  7. AffiliateForum.com.au is not the appropriate medium for personal or private vendettas. This forum should not be used to attempt to resolve personal problems with fellow members, networks, service providers or anyone else. Please email them directly to attempt to resolve in the first instance.
  8. Please try to keep postings on-topic, do not steer the thread in another direction without good reason. If required please start a new topic within a relevant forum.
  9. Please use the most descriptive title possible when creating a new thread, ensuring you search the forums first to ensure posts are not duplicated. Duplicate posts may be deleted or merged.
  10. Be respectful to your fellow members, this is a friendly and great environment; we wish to keep it that way so please treat others as you would like to be treated.
  11. Moderators may, if felt appropriate move your post if it becomes more relevant / pertinent to another part of the forum.
  12. Please remember that moderators are volunteer helpers that are here to ensure the forum runs smoothly. Please respect this if they have to contact you/edit/remove or add additional comments to your threads or posts.
  13. Should you have any issues with a moderator you must contact the forum administrator i.e. me using the contact us button below.
  14. Discussions about moderator or administrator actions are welcome in email or local private messages, but should not be placed in the public forums.
  15. Please keep your language clean and decent. This include personal inflammatory language as well as obscenities.
  16. You agree not to hold AffiliateForum.com.au or its members liable for anything stated within the forums and that messages posted at this site are the sole opinion and responsibility of the poster.
  17. Postings that are designed with the intention to drive traffic to a member's site, or affiliated sites will be removed or edited, as the moderator(s) feels appropriate.
  18. Trolling will not be tolerated.
  19. Members identified with more than one account will have their accounts merged. Any member who deliberately sets up a false account to troll will be banned.
  20. Members are not to post obscene, vulgar, racist, offensive, or illegal posts, links, or images. Posts containing such content will be removed and could lead to a warning or a ban if necessary.
  21. Advertising of goods for sale is allowed, however, this is limited to the forum entitled "Marketplace'
