| | Parked Domains Hi guys,
I'd be interested in hearing different experiences and opinions of what do you do with your not-yet-developed domains?
Until now I have basically just left them sitting there....but that is probably not the best course of action. I am happy to be enlightened on this one
Thanks,
Luke |

| | If anyone is interested in testing their undeveloped domains on our parking program, feel free to drop me a PM or email (mike at fabulous dot com).
Also, take a look at our page editor, which allows you to create custom parking landers by combining layout, color and relevant images here at FabulousPlus.com
Cheers,
Mike

Thanks,
Luke | Either park them with a service like Fabulous.com or Namedrive and just let them sit there...
Wont make much unless you have some domains with type in traffic or already many backlinks...
Out of all my parked domains about 10% of domains make 90% of the money. (getting paid in usd aint bad either )
If you have a fair few domains on the same topic I would suggest setting up a coming soon page with around 300 works of text, no images, info about what the site is about and so on and a form about what people want to see on the site.
Add some backlinks to your other domains and other coming soon pages.
When your ready to develop your site you might already be ranking alright, have a pagerank or 1 or 2 and have an idea of what people what to see on your site. Quote:

Fabulous.com | Off topic here... Mike, can you convince me why I should make the switch from namedrive to fabulous. Do you make payments by paypal? Can you give me some examples of parked domains do I can see how everything will look.
Thanks,

| | Hi Jam,
Yes we do make payment via PayPal, wire, cheque or into your Fab account to be used from domain registrations, renewals and transfers.
Here's some examples of our landers:
wineserving.com
teenagebedding.com
cheapstudenttickets.com
babysgames.com
rifleguns.com
medicohealth.com
longbeachanimalhospital.com
cottoncandysugar.com
shoppinggrabber.com
musicplaylist.com
We allow customers to set 1 or 2-click landers, you can also specify a Target Keyword (which helps optimize ad results on 1-clicks) and Related Searches.
Also, for premium domains, experienced Fabulous.com designers will create custom landers to maximize earning potential. Here's some examples we have done in already: Salaries.com, Racing.com, GoKarting.com and MensJewelry.com
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Cheers,
Mike

| | Does anyone know of a .au parking program?
I have this daft idea that a .au domain will get a better ctr if the content appears to be australian rather american
For the OP - yes, definitely do *something* with them.
If creating a one-pager with a basic description is not feasible then at least park it |

| | Don't forget that if you're getting a decent amount of traffic, and you've got a domain that seems relevant to a particular niche/category, you can toss your hat into a CPA/PPS ring and see how that does.
The results aren't as instantaneous as parking, but the payouts are generally a fair bit higher.
A certain admin of a certain domain forum is doing a couple of grand a week forwarding his domains to some of our services because they're common typos of a certain program. |

| | HarveyJ - Could you please explain a bit more about CPA/PPS?
I assume CPA is cost per aquisition....not familiar with the PPS acronym.
Thanks |

| | Pay Per Sale... It's basically the other side of the CPA coin, hence my reason to put a / between the two.
Pay Per Sale also being a bit more specific, as "Acquisition" is often confused for simply an "Action" |

| | Imo IMO...
Parking Company - Third Man (gets ads from middle men)
Google/Yahoo - Middle Man
Affiliate Network - Middle Man
Advertiser - First Man
Check affiliate networks for campaigns that are geared towards your domain name traffic, you will earn far more this way (if the campaign is a top performer)
If you have time it's best to skip the third man for the middle man and set-up little adsense mini sites (can be a one pager). It is not that hard and will only take you ten minutes to whipp one up (get some articles off article sites if you know what to do).
Have a template style design like this:
Recommended page width (table that is centered) at 650 to 700 pixels
Streamlined Design (One Pager)
Header Graphic
ADS
ARTICLE
ADS
use your imagination where to place the ads in the article.
Try to keep articles as short as possible, within perspective of the screen, the user must not scroll down and at the same time still be in view of the ads. (its works trust me)
Header graphics for any particular industry are easy to obtain. Either make it yourself, or pay to have a batch done on rentacoder (you can get them done cheaply on rentacoder)
Or i can make them for you, 5 dollars each.
The Adsense way: You cut out the third mans share, this way you make more revenue.
Tip: Targeting Ads
Adsense looks at the file name or url first to determine targeted ads. (Trust me)
If the keyword is not in the domain name or ads are not showing towards the content then create a file or page that reflects the keyword
keyword.html
Name you CSS file, to the keyword (keyword.css)
Name you header graphic file to keyword (keyword.jpg)
Redirect your domain name to : domainname.com/keyword.html
Oh yes I forgot, get a reseller hosting account where you can set-up your domain names. Your increased revenue will outweigh this expense. Choose a reputable hosting company.
Advertiser - First Man
Directly approach advertisers.... this is not easy work , but the rewards are much higher.
Example:
sydneylawyer.com.au
Approach a legal firm in Sydney. Tell them you can market their services for a commission.
Gambling Names
I must admit fabulous.com had or still has good casino pay per click and pay per sale rates. Its been awhile since i have been with them.
Other than fabulous use an affiliate program to monetise cause adense does not allow gambling sites.
I hope i have be useful. Otherwise just tell me to fook off...its okay
If i misspeeled anything sue me...
Cheers
Marls

We run a package that's an modified open source competitor to MS Office.
According to a few affiliates for it, it does about 3-5x what they were doing on parked revenues.
We've even got one guy that's clever enough to promote it as a "student deal", and puts stickers up in college bathrooms in California. |
